Council Member Williams

Brant Williams was born and raised in Norris, Tennessee, Councilman Brant Williams graduated from Norris High School as Valedictorian, Class of ‘73. He earned two Bachelors degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and then attended the Graduate School of Management at California State University, Los Angeles.

After college, Mr. Williams began his career in accounting in Los Angeles. In just three years, he worked his way up to be the Assistant Corporate Controller and Director Asset Management for Specialty Restaurants Company, a $225,000,000 enterprise.

Mr. Williams left Specialty Restaurants to become the Chief Financial Officer of a $32,000,000 restaurant / motel company that was in the midst of Chapter 11 reorganization. While implementing the Chapter 11 workout plan, Mr. Williams found that his interests lie more in operations than in accounting. Thus, by 1989 he had formed a partnership with a friend and started his first business, Boshu International. Together they designed, manufactured, and imported men’s and boys swimwear first from Taipei, Taiwan and later from mainland China. Some of their major accounts were JC Penney, Kmart, Mervyns’, Target, Kohl’s, and hundreds of independent beachwear shops. Their brand names were California Beachfront, Ocean Blue, and Black Lagoon.

After selling his half of the beachwear company to his partner, Mr. Williams’ growing interest in computers led him to become National Sales and Marketing Manager for a computer software firm selling operations management software to small and medium manufacturers, wholesalers, and importers companies throughout the USA.

In 1993, Mr. Williams relocated to the southeast to assist a friend who was attempting to save his floundering apparel company. That same year he purchased Four Seasons Campground located on Farmer Road in Kingston. To be closer to his aging parents and to oversee the operations of the campground, he moved to Kingston in the fall of 1994. In 1997, Mr. Williams took over the operations of two convenience stores in Oliver Springs. However, after his brother's sudden death he sold his interest in the stores to concentrate on his business in Kingston. Mr. Williams opened Frontier Firearms, LLC in the fall of 2000.

After several years as a reserve officer with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Williams began his public-service life in earnest with his 2002 election as Constable.

Today Mr. Williams lives with his wife Angela and two stepsons, Aaron and Brandon. They have four cats, Booter-Dooter, Kingston Tobias, Treesa, and Theodore Woodrow (Woody) and one very jealous dog Bootsie.
